ART CITY Bologna, a programme of shows, events and initiatives promoted by the Comune di Bologna in partnership with BolognaFiere that coincides with Arte Fiera, will take place from 27 January to 5 February 2023. And this year, Prologis is taking part too!
The 11th edition of ART CITY Bologna will be coordinated by Lorenzo Balbi, the Artistic Director of MAMbo - Museo d'Arte Moderna di Bologna . The aim is to reflect on the wealth and vitality of contemporary culture by putting online the various propositions from the system of public institutions and private organisations.
Prologis is participating as an exhibition space and independent gallery showing the large works of urban art created on the walls of some of our buildings at Interporto di Bologna, as part of our PARKlifeTM philosophy. After the experience of Lodi and Romentino, for Bologna we contacted four internationally renowned Italian artists - JOYS, MONEYLESS, ETNIK and ZED1 – to create the inaugural works of a highly ambitious project: the establishment of the first museum of urban art anywhere in the world in a logistics park.
The purpose of the project devised by Art Director Enrico Sironi was to celebrate Bologna, the city known historically as the cradle of urban art in Italy. The idea was to identify four artists that could start by representing the variety of styles and forms of expression typical of this type of contemporary art. The innovative aspect of the project is that it will be freely available 24/7.
ART CITY Bologna aims to bring to the attention of the general public places that are not usually associated with art. In this sense, art located in a logistics park is in perfect harmony with the concept proposed by the Festival. What we have done at Interporto di Bologna represents a further development of the PARKlife™ philosophy and a real step forward: a successful mix of art, logistics and well-being available to the people who work at Interporto and the local area and communities.
