Expansion works recently started at the Lodi logistics park in the Somaglia and Casalpusterlengo municipalities, with the construction of a new building that should be completed by the end of September 2022.
The new Class A building, partly built-to-suit, and partly on spec, will have a total floor area of 64,400 square metres, divided into three sections that will be tailored to the requirements of the user. Each section will have its own entrance to the warehouse, with private parking outside, plus other parking for cars within the complex, which will be equipped with charging stations for electric cars. The structure will have a beam height of 12 metres, 73 loading bays, and LEED® Gold environmentally certified LED lighting systems. There will also be large green spaces with trees and plants around the building and rainwater storage tanks.
The build-to-suit part of the building has been designed to meet the specific needs of a pharmaceutical logistics operator. The 26,000 square metres will include three temperature-controlled areas (at 15-25 degrees, 4-8 degrees and below 20 degrees) for storage of pharmaceutical products, depending on their characteristics, plus an office area that can accommodate around 170 employees. The part of the building that is still available occupies an area of around 38,000 square metres, with 1,300 square metres of offices and ample parking for cars and trucks.
This new development will provide additional capacity at Prologis Park Lodi. Alongside the strategic positioning of our park, close to motorways and the city of Milan, the rationale for the development is also the sustainability of our buildings and the service offered to our customers.
