Prologis, the global leader in logistics real estate, is launching a pan-European charitable giving initiative throughout the whole month of December. The European team expects the campaign to return over €200,000 to charities and good causes close to the local communities that they are part of.

Steered by a specially formed Prologis action team, employees, customers, and supply chain have come together for a new action called the ‘Dock Doors of Giving’. The campaign has been divided over a number of themed initiatives and awareness days and sees a different dock door opened daily to share the community nominated commitments. The month-long event will raise money and support for charities, give back to local communities, and make a difference where it’s most needed.

COVID-19 has seen many smaller charities struggle as people choose to shift their funding towards some of the larger health-based charities or food banks; as a result, many have been unable to organise their usual fundraising events.

The EU-wide campaign will highlight the big difference that smaller charities, community groups, and volunteers can make to a community. It will also help demonstrate how large companies and their customers can be a force for good in the communities they serve.

Sandro Innocenti, Senior Vice President, Country Manager, Prologis Italia said: “The Dock Doors of Giving campaign is about more than simply donating. It’s about support and commitment to the communities that we are part of. Social responsibility runs deep in our culture- from companywide days of community service, to providing volunteering days for employees, we always strive to be a force for good in our local communities. This campaign uniquely helps us come together and show how, with the support of our customers and supply chains, we can make a real difference to charities and community groups, give back and provide support where it matters.”

Prologis’ employees and customers have been encouraged to submit suggestions for charities and organisations to support through the initiative. These cover a variety of causes, including tackling food poverty and hunger, supporting refugees and migrants, giving back to the elderly, or helping those with disabilities.

The Prologis Dock Doors of Giving will be opened daily on our social media channels, throughout December.
