We are particularly pleased to announce that Sandro Innocenti, Senior Vice President and Country Manager for Italy, has taken over the chairmanship of the Technical Table dedicated to logistics at Confindustria Assoimmobiliare, the national association representing the leading operators of the various property sectors in Italy.

The logistics property sector has indeed established itself as the leading asset class by investment volume in Italy for 2023, attracting numerous international investors. Sandro Innocenti’s appointment reflects Assoimmobiliare’s commitment to enhancing a constantly evolving category, of fundamental importance to the national economy.

Our country manager will bring his experience to Assoimmobiliare, gained over more than 25 years in the sector, with a commitment to promoting the crucial role that logistics, and, in particular, logistics for property, plays in Italy. One of his principal objectives will be to highlight the benefits that modern property brings to local communities, albeit without forgetting the challenges. There is indeed a growing need to make the sector more attractive, both for human resources and for the local communities which host the properties. There is also a need to push for technological and digital innovation, for redevelopment of brownfield areas and for the energy transition. The sector must also interpret the needs of workers more effectively, creating more inclusive and pleasant working environments, that are rich in services and oriented towards offering a better balance between work and private life.

In this context, Prologis has distinguished itself for several years through its innovative PARKlife™ philosophy. This vision has led to significant initiatives in our Prologis Parks, such as those in Lodi, Romentino and Interporto Bologna. At these, we have introduced important urban artworks, created spaces for sports and enriched outdoor environments, in order to promote socialisation and interaction between individuals.

Innocenti’s appointment represents not only an acknowledgement of his skills and leadership, but also an opportunity for Prologis to make its own contribution to the logistics sector, promoting increasingly sustainable and innovative development in both environmental and in social terms.
