Prologis has constructed two new Class A build-to-suit facilities that will expand the new logistics platform of a major express delivery firm at Bologna Interporto by around 30,000 square metres. Over the last four years, Prologis has completed four build-to-suit, modern and technologically advanced buildings, which occupy a total surface area of 60,000 square metres.
The latest two Class A buildings (DC23 and DC24) were completed recently by Prologis and have been awarded LEED Gold sustainability certification. Each building has a 100 KW solar power installation, the latest technology LED lighting and hard-wearing, high-performance jointless floors. One is a cross-dock building of around 9,000 square metres, with a beam height of 8 metres. It is equipped with 84 loading bays for TIR trucks and vans and includes 450 square metres of office space. The other, a 21,500 square metre building, which will be used as a warehouse, has a beam height of 12 metres, 18 loading bays and 1,000 metres of office space. This building also has a rainwater recovery system. Outside, there are large areas for vehicles to manoeuvre and parking spaces reserved for employees and visitors.
